FAQ
Before your first cup.
The short version: Anna's Chai is North America's first dairy-free freeze-dried concentrate, brewed first and strained clean so you can finish the cup your way.
Is Anna's Chai dairy-free?+
Yes. Anna's Chai is a dairy-free tea-and-spice concentrate. We leave milk out on purpose so every cup can be finished with the milk you actually drink.
Can I use almond, oat, soy, or lactose-free milk?+
Yes. Whole milk, lactose-free milk, oat, almond, soy, coconut, and blends all work. Creamier milks make a fuller latte-style cup.
Is this the same as instant chai latte mixes or water-ready sachets?+
No. Many latte mixes and water-ready chai sachets include dairy powder, sugar, syrups, or stabilizers. Anna's Chai starts as brewed masala chai and stays a dairy-free concentrate, so you choose the milk and sweetness.
Why is it more expensive than regular chai powder?+
Freeze-drying is slower and more expensive than spray-drying or grinding raw ingredients. We chose it because brewed chai is worth treating gently.
Does it leave grit or residue?+
It is designed for a smooth cup. The chai is brewed and strained before freeze-drying, so leaves and whole spices are removed before the concentrate reaches you.
Is this suitable for vegans?+
The concentrate is vegan-friendly when prepared with plant milk and a vegan sweetener.
How many cups does one tin or pouch make?+
The current products are planned for roughly 26 to 30 cups depending on how strong you like your chai.
How should I store it once opened?+
Keep the pouch or tin tightly closed in a cool, dry cupboard. Avoid steam from the kettle or pot, because freeze-dried powders love to pull moisture from the air.
